" Six Shooter Western Series"
Friday, March 21,
is John Ford’s classic “Stagecoach,”
starring John Wayne, and introduced by UNR professors Paul
Starrs and Gary Hausladen. Both men are noted Western
experts who have written books on the West.
Clark Gable and Marilyn Monroe’s
last film, “The Misfits,” will
screen
Friday, April
4. Filmed in the Reno area, it will be introduced
by Arthur Knight, author of the new book, Misfits Country.
UNR Professor, Regent and film expert
Howard Rosenberg will provide the commentary for the Friday,
April 11, presentation of “Track
of the Cat.”
This film is based upon the book by Nevada author Walter Van
Tilburg Clark.
Friday, April 25,
the final film in the series will be John Wayne’s last
film—shot in Carson City—“The Shootist.”
Robin Holabird, of the Nevada Film Office, will introduce
this classic film that co-stars Lauren Bacall and James Stewart.
The Six Shooter films will start at
7 p.m.
at TMCC’s Dandini campus’
Sierra Building, room 108.
